Involvement in Prometheus

For awhile, Prometheus was a project that was a step above my usual work. I eagerly awaited updates, curious to see what was in store, and always feeling a bit competitive on the inside - I loved trying to match the quality of my own works to what I saw on this website. Mostly from this came my skill in the two things I love: graphics development and content management. For awhile, I chatted on occasion with Nick and MonoxideC (a fellow member of the Fantastic 6) and started to perform menial, helpful tasks. Eventually, ideas were thrown around, and the team decided to invite me to join them. I decided to lay all my personal competitions to rest, and put that same hard work into the project I had longed to emulate. Put my time into something that other people would enjoy, you know?

My forte lies with, as I stated above, content management and graphics. Fortunately, upon joining the team, I was able to put these skills to good use reconstructing the core on which the whole Prometheus system depends. Along with a good bit of help from my good friend MonoxideC, we can get tag data from point A to point B, without even breaking your computer! (Disclaimer: while our computers have not broken, this does not confirm that yours will not. We cannot be held responsible for any such damages, physical or transient.)

You May Remember Me From ...

All over the place... (I'm way cooler and awesomer and popularer than that one Nick fool!) I am (well no, that's incorrect - I used to be) an active poster on HaloMods, HaloDev, and HXBDev [R.I.P. =(], and am a member of the infamous Halo 2 group known only as "The Fantastic 6". Well... We're also known as "Those Bunch of Jerks", but that's ... beside the point anyways. You can usually find me idling on ShadowFire with the rest of the programmers, reminiscing about the old days when people didn't suck, and when stuff actually got done, and kids actually listened to their parents... Wait, no; forget that last one...

My Halo resume is actually quite impressive - if you've ever played a bsp conversion map on your xbox, you've probably played one that I at least had a hand in, if I did not make it myself. One of my favorite mods ever is Forerunner Island 3... Awesome mod, but I could kill myself for it, because I can't help but think it helped to bring on the myriad of shader swap mods that we see today. Lately, however, the quality of my maps has been surpassed by an eager community of people just like you, and thus I spend most of my time coding (and playing the evil devourer of souls that is World of Warcraft... I hate you so [note: I have since left this game behind.]).

ADI was my creation, as well as HXE, which I don't blame you for if you've never heard of. It was a cool little MFC application that allowed you to open two maps at once, and move the metadata directly in between the two. It was quite nice not to have to deal with the speed of the Windows filesystem (which is surpassed by the speed of smell) on a computer that I don't even believe was 233MHz. HHT (CLuis' creation) quickly made this obsolete with its automatic addition of tags to the map, using a style akin to that of adding files to a ZIP archive.
