Involvement in Prometheus

I got into Halo modding way back in its first fledgling days. Back when things like.. making the pistol shoot Master Chiefs was amazing, and making a complete custom map was a far off dream.

I've always loved Halo since the first moment I played it, and I was really excited to find a group of people that were working to bring innovation to something that I enjoyed so much. After figuring our how the sound tags in Halo were structured, and extracting the first playable sound from Halo (which was a line from Cortana in The Maw that played at double speed due to my riff header being bugged ;p), I was invited into the group that I am still a member of - HaloDev.

Prometheus was an idea that Nick - our fearless (sometimes) project leader - started brewing in his devious, sadistic mind well before anything of its scope was even remotely feasible. Over time, it has evolved into the sexy behemoth (oxymoron?) of coding excellence that it is today. My role has been "the .NET guy" due to my experience in that area. Basically, I've done alot of design and helped out with numerous overall tasks, in addition to the Tag Editor, Tag Explorers, and Tag Archive systems. I've also been responsible for the majority of the GUI coding (custom controls, things of that nature - not the drag and drop stuff in the designer, that's Nick's job <3).

You May Remember Me From ...

I used to be a household name in Halo modding, worshipped far and wide by a host of adoring noobs. However, I've been in hiding for a long time now, discreetly doing my part to bring Prometheus to that fated day when we will finally be able to share it with everyone else that has a desire to create things in the world of Halo.

Most likely, if you are new to Halo modding, you have no idea who I am. However, you have likely either used my modding tool (Halo Map Tools - or HMT as they call it) or you have used a tool that was based on my code, borrowed some of my code, or was based on some of the knowledge of the Halo engine and map-file format that I helped to uncover.

So, to answer the question posed by the header of this section of my bio: you may or may not remember me from anything. If you do remember me, you probably remember me well.
