Prometheus Update #7

Wow, well yeah, so it has kind of … been a while. There is so much I could say as to the who, what, where, when, why, and how – but I’ll just stick to: Sorry for updates disappearing for so, so long. In the past year, Prometheus has changed considerably: new look, new rendering code, redesigned core that exudes awesomeness, a few new team members, and more. Click “Read More” for the details.

A Disgrace to Halo Modders

How the actions of a few jerks can disgrace and vilify many never ceases to amaze me. I suppose I should not be surprised by it anymore, nor should I expect any better, but that little speck of hope gets me every time. Such incidents are always unfortunate, but when they happen in one’s own community – against the company the community exists for, no less – that is simply disheartening.

HaloDev Hardware Survey

Surprise, something downloadable! No, it is not a Prometheus build or a video and it won't blow you away, either. However, it is essential in helping us shape Prometheus into a great experience for the majority of users. In an ideal world, software would run equally well on all computers, but this is certainly not an ideal world. To make sure we are making all the right moves in all the right places at all the right times, we need your help - it only takes three button clicks*!

Feature Focus: Normal Mapping

Tags: | |

This is the first article in the "Feature Focus" series - a collection of articles that will highlight various Prometheus features or HaloDev research - and what better day to start it than Christmas day? Well, alright, better days did exist ... like a day or two a few months ago when this new site was first opened up, but that's not the point. This is not a Prometheus progress update - that series of articles is quite separate - but we will hopefully be bringing you one of those soon as well.

Prometheus Logo

This is one bit of news that was going to be saved for the next update, but since you can now see it all around you ... well, not much point to being all ninja-secretive about it. The logo may seem vaguely familiar to you and there's a good reason for that, keep reading to find out.

New HaloDev Website!

The old, ugly, and buggy website that was home to all things HaloDev has been set ablaze to never be viewed again. From the ashes rises the Phoenix (no, not that Phoenix), born anew.

So, I guess this is a few days late or something like that. We’re lazy, we’re slow, you’re bored, and so on and so on is all I’ve been hearing these past few weeks – well I guess it’s time for an update then, to silence the masses. Click on ‘Read More’ below to take a look at what we’ve got to say and to learn of The Curse of Prometheus.

Prometheus Update #2

A week past due but worth it, today’s update comes with another horrible video! There are some new screens, too. Last week’s update didn’t make it out because I had some personal matters to attend to and I just didn’t have time during the week, so sorry to all of you that spent the better part of your week pressing refresh on the site. Come on in and check out what we’ve got this time around!

"Yes, these are real."

So, the third Thursday of every month is my ritual inbox-cleaning day; it is, in fact, an all day job. During this long and tedious process, I came across a few hilarious emails received by visitors of this site. Emails that weren't laughable were simply a testament to human stupidity. Either way they're worth a quick read so check out the stupid things people have to say!

This is a mini update that just serves to clear a few little things up from last time. There will be no update #2 this weekend. This update is not news-site worthy but if you're here checking out the site / looking for the latest update, please read this.
